How to Speed Up Your PC Without Expensive Upgrades

Windows is a great tool for your computer. Not only does it allow you to run a multitude of different programs, but it also gives you the ability to do everything from play games to watch movies... all from your comfort of your armchair. And now with the Internet, computers are quickly becoming a 'must-have' item for 21st century living. However, there's a problem - they have a tendency to run slow.

To fix this, you simply need to fix the cause of your computer's slowness. Finding the cause of the problem is what's going to give you the best results, so you need to be sure that you're doing it right. And that's where we need to explain one of the biggest MYTHS about speeding up your PC. You see, if you took your problem to a computer shop, the 'expert' in there will likely recommend upgrading your PC. This means that you add some more bits and pieces to it to make it run faster. Now, although upgrading does make it run faster, most of the time, it's not necessary at all, and can cost you $100's just for nothing.

Computers are much like motor cars. They have an 'engine' which runs at a constant speed. This engine (the bits and pieces inside your computer) is the thing that gets upgraded, but it doesn't need to be. If you imagine having an old motor car, do you think it will suddenly slow down because a new Ferrari has just been released? Or because there are newer models out? No. Your computer keeps the same speed throughout it's life, just like a car. This means that in order to speed it up, you need to get rid of all the junk that's clogging it up.

In terms of your computer, the junk that's jamming your PC up is found in the registry. This is the central database for your computer and stores everything from your desktop wallpaper to some vital system files. It's a crucial part of your machine which is essential. The problems occur when the files in this database become corrupt. Because they aren't able to be read, Windows actually takes much longer trying to work them out, which slows your PC down. And with 1,000's of these files all being corrupted, it's easy to see how your computer can start to run slowly.

So in order to speed this up, you just need to use a registry cleaner to fix it. This software will actually sit on your PC and then scan through the registry, cleaning up all the problematic files in there. This will speed it up, because it will make your database smoother and a lot more reliable.

In our experience, the best registry cleaner is one called RegCure
